Umoya Energy Wind, in Hopefield, has appointed a Community Operations Intern, as part of a national programme that aims to develop the next generation of community development practitioners. Umoya Energy believes that this will undoubtedly bear fruit in the quest for a more equitable and thriving society in rural South African communities.
Interns, such as Tazley Amsterdam, are carefully selected to receive this training opportunity based on their dedication, passion and commitment to creating positive change within the communities that they reside in, and with whom they will now be working, thus gaining valuable practical experience at ground level.
The programme implementer, Angels Resource Centres NPO, helped to design this 18-month programme, with Social Anthropologist, Lizelle Coombs, a qualified Enterprise & Community Development Practitioner, taking the lead.
